Human Resources (HR) are a critical component of the National TB Elimination Program (NTEP). Effective delivery of quality health services is dependent on a competent and motivated health care workers.
- The evolving areas of TB management under NTEP has necessitate to assess the matching need of HR based on the specific norms (program and state) and workload in respect to the demand of the services; be it active case findings, drug resistant TB management, public private partnership, latent TB infection (PMTPT), data management and other new activities.
- There are defined norms of HR under NTEP with specific job profile. The districts / States have to assess the requirements based on the infrastructure and equipment available to deliver the services. The need assessment should be conducted during NHM PIP preparation so required budget can be leveraged from the State or NHM - NTEP budget.
